Tactical Fire Problem – Chimney Fire

This week the tactical fire problem is a chimney fire. Take a look.

1.) What does a close look size up tell you here?

2.) Do you have any indications of extension? What are they?

3.) What do the small windows indicate on the B (Bravo) side of the main house.

4.) What is your incident action plan?

5.) Does the fact that this appears to be more recent construction help you or hurt you?

Tactical Fire Problem – Trash Chute Fire

This week the tactical Fire Problem is a Trash Chute. These were commonly found in late 60’s and 70’s construction in mid and high rise structures. If you have any of these or respond mutual aid to one, check it out.

1.) Lets assume you are on floor 4 and the door appears wedged open. How can you slow smoke spread?

2.) What can you do to clear a blocked chute?

3.) What companies and how many do you send to the lowest level room, or incinerator?

4.) Is a confined small fire in the chute the potential for greater alarms?

5.) What affect does the construction of the building have on this incident?
